Brass at TCU
The Brass department is a vibrant area of both the TCU School of Music and the
Dallas-Fort Worth community and provides its students with a wide range of activities designed to equip them with the skills to navigate the diverse demands of today’s arts climate. The Brass faculty, comprised of distinguished performers and renowned pedagogues, serve as teachers and mentors who guide students on the path toward their professional goals.
With TCU located in the heart of one of the nation’s most culturally minded and active communities, our students are surrounded with world-class musicians, top tier arts organizations, and countless career building opportunities.
A diverse course of study at TCU includes student participation in orchestra,
Wind band, jazz ensembles, brass ensemble and chamber groups. TCU’s studio-based ensembles, such as the Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Ensemble, Trombone Choir and Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble are active performing groups on campus as well as throughout the community and abroad, and they have performed throughout the nation and overseas.
A hallmark of the TCU Brass department is its dedication to bringing a broad array of guest artists who are leaders in every corner of the profession to perform on campus. Whether it’s hosting music festival events and concerts, clinics, or guest artist recitals by legendary jazz, studio, orchestral, period, and cutting-edge contemporary artists, TCU is a hub for today’s leaders in the brass world.
