Lois Sonnier Hart

Lois Sonnier Hart has been a dedicated singer/actor/educator for over twenty-five years in the Fort Worth/Dallas as well as several years in the New York area. Professional credits include National Tours of The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and Fiddler on the Roof (with Herschel Bernardi) Off-Broadway: The York Theatre, 37 Arts (NYMF), The Abingdon and APAC.

Regional highlights include the 20th Anniversary revival of Maltby and Shire's 'Baby' at Paper Mill Playhouse starring Carolee Carmello, Norm Lewis, Michael Rupert, and Chad Kimball, as well as appearances at Atlanta Theater of the Stars, Northshore Music Theatre and many shows for Prather Musical Productions. On stage in D/FW, she has appeared in numerous productions for Casa Manana, Circle Theatre, Lyric Stage, Stage West, Uptown Players, Granbury Opera House, Dallas Summer Musicals, Southwest Opera Theatre and more… Favorite roles include Mother Regina(Hail Mary),Sister Clarissa(Over The Tavern),Mrs. Brice(Funny Girl), Phyllis Gold(Twilight of the Golds),Emma Goldman(Ragtime),Parthy Ann Hawks(Show Boat),Signora Naccarelli(The Light in the Piazza, Madame Rouspenskaya(Mirette), and Mimi Schwinn(A New Brain), Rachel (Rags)...and more.

Concert/ Guest Artist performances include legendary Broadway conductor Paul Gemignani's 'Music of the Theater' concert for Manhattan School of Music at The New York St. Regis. The Texas Wind Symphony Broadway Concerts at Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth Symphony Pops Concert of West Side Story(Maria),and several concerts with Schola Cantorum of Texas as featured soloist. Also "Ellis Island, The Dream of America" by Peter Boyer at Bass Hall with the Fort Worth Symphony, and Performing Arts Fort Worth. Film/Commercial/voice over: ABC's One Life to Live, Platinum Productions and JC Penney Corporation.

As an educator, Lois was Assistant Professor at Texas Wesleyan University for 12 years where she coordinated the music theatre BFA Program. She has also previously served on the music faculty at TCU and Tarrant County College. A long time member of Actors Equity Association,other memberships include Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity and The National Association of Teachers of Singing. Lois holds a Master of Music from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Music from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
