Request for Nordan Young Artist Award Audition (for students entering TCU AS FRESHMEN IN FALL 2017)
The NORDAN Scholarship is an exclusive award, open to entering freshmen vocalists, instrumentalists, and composers of superior talent, who have chosen to major in music. NORDAN winners receive a four-year, FULL TUITION AWARD. Applicants are required to complete the online Audition Request Application and upload a preliminary video performance for review in order to be considered for a live audition.
NORDAN awardees in music will be considered for full tuition awards provided they submit the Free Application of Financial Student Aid (FAFSA - required for US citizens) and the CSS Profile by March 1, 2017. Visit the TCU Office of Financial Aid for more information.
A completed online Audition Request Application with a preliminary video performance must be submitted to the School of Music by December 1, 2016. Following screening, successful applicants will be notified December 20, 2016 by mail of their eligibility to perform during the on-campus auditions. Final auditions will be held at TCU on January 14, 2017, and must be performed in person.
Students not chosen to participate in the NORDAN Auditions are encouraged to audition on other January, February, or March audition days for School of Music acceptance/scholarships or for ensemble scholarship awards in their area of study.
REMINDER: Acceptance as a music major requires the completion of both the School of Music online Audition Request Application and the standard TCU Undergraduate Student Application (including teacher and counselor evaluations). However, one audition will suffice for both acceptance as a major and consideration for music scholarships. Both applications procedures must be submitted by February 15, 2017 Music Scholarships will be considered by live audition until March 4, 2017; applicants must complete the School of Music online Audition Request Application before an audition time can be scheduled. Notification of standard TCU Admission will be sent by April 1, 2017.
TCU EARLY APPLICATION/DECISION PROGRAM
Music applicants interested in an earlier admission response are strongly encouraged to complete both application procedures above before the TCU Early Action deadline of November 1, 2016. TCU Early Action provides application review and nonbinding University notification by January 1, 2017, while allowing applicants to decide by May 1, 2017 (National Candidate Reply Date) to attend TCU. TCU Early Action combined with the NORDAN January 14, 2017 Audition Day ensures a comprehensive admission decision by February 15, 2016.
For the NORDAN Scholarship Award, you are required to upload a preliminary video performance when completing the online Audition Request Application.
